Madisonville, KY - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to reduce southbound traffic to one lane on the Pennyrile Parkway in Webster County on Wednesday, September 2nd. The lane restriction for southbound traffic at the 55 mile marker is to allow the Webster County Highway Maintenance Crew to do some erosion control work along the shoulder.
Southbound motorists traveling the Pennyrile Parkway should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 55 mile marker starting about 7:30 a.m. All southbound traffic will be moved to the left-hand or passing lane at the site. This is just north of the Slaughters-Calhoun KY 138 Exit near the Webster-Hopkins County Line.
Motorists should use appropriate caution in the work zone where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel will be on the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
The repair work should be complete by mid-afternoon.
Approximately 12,000 vehicles travel this section of the Breathitt-Pennyrile Parkway in an average day.
