HOPKINS COUNTY, KY – The Kentucky National Guard has recently announced that solar panels are being installed at the Wendell H. Ford Center in Muhlenberg County, employment source for many Hopkins County military men and women, as well as soldiers from all over the state. According to center officials, three of the main base buildings will be powered by the environmentally safe energy source.

MADISONVILLE, KY – Here is a picture showing that our nations military is still on the move. This military vehicle was spotted by iSurf News Wednesday morning in Madisonville and waiting to be transported to it's next destination, which might just be Afghanistan.

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY - This was sent by a young soldier who is the father of a 5 year old boy and 2 year old girl serving in Iraq at the front with the Black Ops soldiers. He is a national guardsman and this is his 2nd tour of duty in Iraq.

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY - iSurf News was downtown Madisonville today for the 45th Annual Veterans Parade. This is the largest parade in the state of Kentucky for Veterans Day and featured schools, emergency response vehicles, vintage cars, motorcycles, and children of all ages.

Hopkins County, KY - Governor Steve Beshear today recognized the sacrifice of a Kentucky native soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
According to the Department of Defense, Spc. Kevin J. Graham, 27, of Benton, Ky. died September 26 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.

Hopkins County, KY - Bikers came together Saturday September 19th in Sturgis Kentucky to “Ride for the Troops” and raise money to purchase phone cards for our soldiers.
